Responsibilities & Opportunities

This position will provide leadership for strategic and tactical production, quality, safety, and environmental activities for the Marion, Ohio operation. This position is tasked with the correct operation and execution. The Production Supervisor will lead, direct, and respond to the needs of the organization and its Employees, while driving actions for success. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Production Manager, support from Plant Leadership, and may include other activities as assigned.

This position will operate on 7:00pm-7:00am on a rotating schedule. 

  • Attain annual safety goals through a solid understanding of safety management as well as the ability to convey and enforce safety rules and procedures.
  • Ensure implementation and evolution of safety guidelines and procedures. Conduct safety meetings, oversees safety‐related training, implements, and enforces safety guidelines, conducts accident investigations, and ensures compliance with safety regulations and programs.
  • Establish culture of excellence in execution, continuous improvement, and communication.
  • Responsible for the onboarding and training of all shift production personnel with good mentoring practices.
  • Organize and cross‐train teams for maximum production flexibility.
  • Lead continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvements by applying appropriate resources.
  • Assist the coordination and execution of production trials and process improvement projects through team project management.
  • Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess, analyze, and track manufacturing processes as it relates to goals and objectives.
  • Provide input to Production Managers on developing budget and plant cost controls.
  • Monitor every stage of production, analyzing current Standard of Work methods, and developing new ways to save steps, time, and materials to reduce costs.
  • Responsible for shift production workforce performance. Fully engage the workforce and promote personal accountability by identifying goals, empowering Employees, and fostering continuous learning by providing ongoing feedback on employee performance with formal evaluations and regular one‐on‐one coaching.
  • Perform direct report Employee administrative and personnel duties. At times support other Supervisors across multiple shifts.
  • Resolve employee complaints and keeping the Production Manager informed.
  • To execute other projects or activities to-be-determined as directed by the Production Manager.

Preferred Skills

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemical, or other related degree preferred. High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: At least 5 years in leading manufacturing teams.

Special Requirements/Competencies:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
  • Must have good math skills, including the ability to work with fractions, decimals and percentages.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office Programs and SAP as an intermediate user.
  • Must have the ability to develop process expertise in order to facilitate troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to maintain an excellent attendance record.
  • Must be flexible to work any shift and overtime as business requires.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
